Mr. Moreland was born in Hampshire county, West Va., August 22, 1854, and on November 9, 1878, he was married to Sarah C. Lish of Garrett county. Lower, Loch Lynn Heights; Mrs. Arthur Harvey, Mountain Lake Park; Mrs Scott Rotruck, Mrs. Harry Schaeffer, Washington, D.C.; Mrs.Edith Foglepole, Loch Lynn Heights; Dorsey Moreland, Gormania, W. Va., and Ernest Moreland. Mrs. Moreland died December 28, 1929. He later married the second time, his widow being Mrs. Eulalia D. Moreland. Also surviving are 27 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Mr. Moreland became a member of the Methodist Eposcopal church in the year 1884 and that denomination through all the years. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock in the United Brethern church at Loch Lynn Heights, Rev, Charles Thompson, of Hundred , West Va.,officiating, assisted by Rev. S. A. Jessee and Rev. I S. Middaugh. Interment was made in the Moreland cemetery on the home farm near Gorman. Six of his grandsons were pollbearers.
