King on September 5, 1911 in Villisca, Montgomery, Iowa. JAMES ELROY ARBUCKLE Funeral services for James Elroy Arbuckle, 69, were held Friday, November 8 at 2 p.m. at the Wolfe Funeral Home. The services were conducted by the Rev. Alvin Sigafus with music by Mrs. Frederick Fisher and Mrs. Quincy Dunn. Casket bearers were Orville Marsh, Wm. Marsh, Jim Millian, Grover Holt, Nobel Linrooth, and Lester Focht. Mrs. Grover Hold and Mrs. Roy Jackson had charge of flowers. Burial was in the Villisca Cemetery. James ElRoy Arbuckle, 69 years of age, died of a heart ailment at the home of his sister, Mrs. E. E. Wiedeman in Villisca, November 6. He was born in Villisca, October 18, 1888, the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Arbuckle. He attended public school in Villisca graduating with the class of 1906. He was employed in the Post Office for a number of years and was then associated with his brother, Leslie in the Arbuckle grocery store. He was united in marriage in 1911 to Miss Ruth King. They moved from Villisca and made their home in Cheyenne, Wyoming, later moving to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and from there to Tucson, Arizona. Roy, known to many friends as “Pike” returned to Villisca in 1931, and had made this his home since that time. He is survived by two brothers, Clyde of Yuma, Arizona, and Walter of Corning, and four sisters, Mrs. E. E. Weideman of Villisca, Mrs. A. B. Johns of Creston, Mrs. Paul Griffith of San Gabriel, California, and Mrs. Paul Cartwright of Indiana, Iowa. Several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Leslie. Villisca Review, Thursday, November 14, 1957, page 4 ROY ARBUCKLE DIES Roy Arbuckle, 69, of Villisca died early Tuesday morning here at the home of his sister, Mrs. Everett Wiedeman. Mr. Arbuckle had been in failing health the last few years. He is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Paul Cartwright, Indiana, Mrs. A. B. Johns, Creston, Mrs. Paul Griffith, San Gabriel, California, and Mrs. Wiedeman, Villisca; and two brothers, Walter Arbuckle, Corning, Iowa and Clyde Arbuckle, Yuma, Arizona.
