Description	:	James Eugene Sims, 78, entered into rest on September 8th, 2016 in Manteca, CA. He was born May 4th, 1938 in Danville, Arkansas to the late Aaron and Etoy Sims, whom he now rejoins, along with brother Jerry Sims and sister Mary “Suzie” Sims. James is survived by the wife he absolutely adored for 53 years- Shirley Sims- whom he met in Tracy, CA after his family took the train from Arkansas out west. His legacy continues through his sons Thomas (Jeanette) and Ronald (Rachel) Sims and daughter Carrie Sorensen (Kevin). He was a blessing to ten grandchildren, and a double-blessing... James is survived by the wife he absolutely adored for 53 years- Shirley Sims- whom he met in Tracy, CA after his family took the train from Arkansas out west. His legacy continues through his sons Thomas (Jeanette) and Ronald (Rachel) Sims and daughter Carrie Sorensen (Kevin). He was a blessing to ten grandchildren, and a double-blessing to 12 great grandchildren. In addition, James is survived by brother Aaron Ray “Joe” Sims and two spoiled rotten dogs; Bandit & Shorty. Mr. Sims was a well-respected ornery cuss who worked hard, played harder, passionately loved his wife and family, and kept life-long friends; a testament to his exemplary character. After serving in the Army for 2 years, Jim (as he was known to some) earned his living driving truck, proudly retiring from Chevron after 29 years. Him and his wife spent retirement touring the USA in their RV, making memories with friends and getting lucky in the casinos. He enjoyed model trains, playing cards and rooting for the Dallas Cowboys and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A celebration of life service will be held at P.L. Fry & Son on Wednesday, September 14th, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. Afterward, he will be laid to rest at the Tracy Public Cemetery. Adapted from PL Fry & Son Funeral Home obituary
