He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. John Tilton of Long Beach, Cal. And Mrs. Josie Crystal of Council Bluffs. There are also five brothers: John, Presley, Robert, Frances and Andrew, all of Panama. Of late years Mr. Dickson had been living in California, where his wife died about ten years ago. Lincoln Star, Lincoln, Nebraska, September 13, 1933 Obituary James Dickson James Dickson, one of Lancaster county's earliest pioneers, died September 7 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Josephine Chrystal, in Council Bluffs. He was 80 years old. Funeral services and burial took place Saturday at Panama. Mr. Dickson came to this county in a covered wagon sixty years ago from the Turkey river country near Ciolesburg, Ia. With his parents, eight brothers and a sister, he crossed the Missouri river by ferry at Nebraska City and came directly to the present site of Panama, where they settled. Mr. Dickson was actively engaged in farming until 1923 when he retired and moved to Long Beach, Cal. Where he lived with a daughter, Mrs. Eva Tilton.
