Stevens Joseph F Stevens. Frozen To Death - Last Thursday the 23rd of November 1971, Frank Stevens of Cass township, in this county, went to Chillicothe and bought some alcohol. He left at night for home, taking a near way across the fields and got lost, and wandered about all night. In the morning the family being alarmed at his absence went in search of him, and he was found some time in the forenoon of Friday about a half mile from his own house frozen stiff, though it is said he breathed a few times after he was discovered, but was dead before they got him to the house. He was an old resident of the county whom many of our citizens will remember as a quiet, good-natured man, who was often in this city, but generally left it intoxicated. He was a farmer in fair circumstances, and a good, and estimable citizen when sober. His drinking consisted in occastional sprees. At other times he was an industrious hard working man.
