Description	:	Buried in St. Joseph's Cememtery - LeMars, IA James Gannon, who has been a resident of Plymouth county for nearly eighteen years, the latter years of his life having been passed in Le Mars, died at his home on Franklin Street on Sunday evening, after a brief attack of the grip. He was past seventy-five years of age and his failing constitution was not sufficiently strong to withstand the attack. Read More	Buried in St. Joseph's Cememtery - LeMars, IA James Gannon, who has been a resident of Plymouth county for nearly eighteen years, the latter years of his life having been passed in Le Mars, died at his home on Franklin Street on Sunday evening, after a brief attack of the grip. He was past seventy-five years of age and his failing constitution was not sufficiently strong to withstand the attack. Deceased was born in County Galway, Ireland, where he remained until he had selected life's helpmate, when they came to the new country to make their home. He first settled in New York and came west to Illinois where he settled near Aurora, where he engaged in his trade of blacksmithing. He came to Plymouth county about seventeen years ago engaging in farming until the last few years when he has resided in Le Mars. Deceased leaves a widow, one son and six daughters, who mourn over his death. The children are: Thos. Gannon, of this city; Mrs. Jas. Pearce, of Oswego, IL; Mrs. John Horrigan, Mrs. Fred Pearce, Mrs. David Tucker, Mrs. C.E. Clarke and Mrs. H. Campbell, all of this county. During his life deceased had gained the esteem and respect of all who knew him and his death caused great sorrow among them. The funeral was held on Tuesday morning at St. James Church, Rev. Father J.P. Barron conducting the services. The funeral was largely attended by old friends and neighbors.
