Description	:	James Glanzer, 66, died at his residence under the care of Madison Hospice on Oct. 12, 2010. He was born on Feb. 12, 1944 at Bridgewater, S.D., to Jacob and LaVina (Wollman) Glanzer. He married Donna Hofer at Bridgewater on Dec. 20, 1964. James grew up in Bridgewater graduating from Bridgewater High School in 1962. He received a bachelors degree from Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, S.D. He was born on Feb. 12, 1944 at Bridgewater, S.D., to Jacob and LaVina (Wollman) Glanzer. He married Donna Hofer at Bridgewater on Dec. 20, 1964. James grew up in Bridgewater graduating from Bridgewater High School in 1962. He received a bachelors degree from Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, S.D. He attended the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley where he graduated in 1970 with a master of arts in music education. He taught music for 33 years including Alexandria, S.D., Akron, Colo., Bridgewater for nine years and Madison for 22 years retiring in 1999. He was selected as the South Dakota Bandmaster of the Year in 1989 and was inducted into the South Dakota Bandmaster Hall of Fame in 2005. He is survived by his wife, Donna, Madison, S.D.; twin sons: Michael (Jean Marie), Brush Prairie, Wash., and Mark (Christina), Mt. Pleasant, Texas; two daughters: Michelle (John) Simpson, Ham Lake, Minn., and Michelle (Eric) Casler, Mt Belvoir, Va.; 16 grandchildren; two brothers: Emmanuel and Donald; two sisters: Lois Hofer and Lucille Hofer, Bridgwater; and sister-in-law, Ruby Lee Hofer, Bridgewater. He was preceded by his parents and brother-in-law Michael Hofer. His funeral was held Sunday, Oct. 17 at 3 p.m. at West Center Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Traxell and Rev. Dan Ziebarth officiating. Burial was on Monday, Oct. 18 at 11 a.m. at Salem Mennonite Brethren Cemetery near Bridgewater.
