Foster, 85, were held here Tuesday afternoon in the Platt Funeral Home. The Rev. A.H. Meyer, retired M.E. pastor, officiated and burial was in the Edgewood Cemetery. Avalon Lodge No. 606 A.F. and A.M. had charge of the burial service. Mr. Foster died Saturday at the home of his son Ray following a long illness. He was born at Elgin, Ill., on Oct 27, 1854. When 11 years old, he moved to Waterloo where he attended school. He was a clerk in a clothing store there sometime. On Dec 28, 1874, he married Eureka Engle in Waterloo. They came to a farm northeast of Edgewood to establish their new home. His wife died in 1923. For several years Mr. Foster owned and operated a store here. Surviving are one son, Ray of Edgewood; one daughter, Mrs. Kitty Burroughs of Waterloo; two sisters, Mrs. Martha Little of Spring Brook, Wis., and Mrs. Mary Dunshee of Creston, O.; eight grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
