When he was buried the family was living in Spencer, Iowa, where they had moved in March 1912. Obituary: Spencer News- Oct 29, 1915 James Henry Marble was born at Champaign, Ill, Dec 27, 1861. When four years old his parents moved to Sidney, Iowa, where he grew to manhood. He was left an orphan at nine and made his home with the grandfather of his future wife, Miss Elizabeth Rogers whom he married in February 1887. He became a Christian early in life and was a member of the Congregational church, having united with the local church about two months ago. About six years ago he moved to Blencoe and in March 1912 to Spencer, living about four miles southeast. Six children were born to them of whom five are living. HE was stricken with apoplexy last Tuesday about 7a.m. Oct 21, seeming to be half dazed, complaining of headache, could not eat, about 11 o'clock lost consciousness and remained in a comatose state till 5:30 p.m. Friday when he died. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. J.O. Thrush and the body was taken to Percival, Iowa, accompanied by Mrs. Marble and four of the children and by the pastor who kindly accompanied them. Interment was in the Bobbitt cemetery. We are sorry to lose Mr. Marble form the community ans sympathize with bereaved ones. They wish to express through the News their appreciation for the many kindnesses shown them in this time of great sorrow. His parents were Henry & Mary E. Thompson Marble. Do not have a location of burial for them. His Grandparents were Silas Marble 1786-1876 #133123379 & Harriet Warner Marble 1792-1880 #133123391.
