Description	:	James Henry Tolle was the 5th of 10 children born to Elijah & Susan (Headley) Tolle. Around 1888, he drove a mule train hauling rock to Denver, Colorado, at the age of 21. He predicted at that time that Denver was an "up and coming town!" After hauling rock, he laid railroad track through Colby, Kansas. On 31 Aug 1891, he was united in marriage to Glencora Elizabeth Frazee in Floyd County, Iowa. Jim and Cora had 10 children, my grandmother, Mary Effie, being their first born. In the Nashua Reporter, dated 11 September 1919, is an article regarding their Tolle Family Reunion, as follows: Tolle Family Reunion Held Sunday - The beautiful country home of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Tolle, near Bassett, was the scene of a happy family reunion last Sunday, September 7. They had planned and made ample preparations for a big day and some eighty one of the relatives and friends gathered at their home to enjoy the feast and all the other good things prepared for the occasion. Mr. and Mrs. Tolle have one of the finest new homes in the country. Among those present were Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Hufman of Ionia, Mrs. Malissa Shook and son and a lady friend of Fairbault, Minn.; Hazel Butterfield and family of Nora Springs; Garry Rowe and family of Floyd; Will Bonsell and family of Deerfield; Mrs. H. B. Watters of Deerfield; Rev. L. Grosback and wife of Coldwell; John Thomas and family of St. Olaf, Iowa; James and Opal Crooks from near Monona; Howard and Dorothy Crooks and Ruth Dickson of Ionia; and Jess Edler and family of Bassett. After the big family dinner the rest of the day was spent in visiting and taking pictures of the many groups of relatives and friends, including one which took in four generations. The day was an ideal autumn day for such an occasion and will long be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to be there, and may Mr. and Mrs. Tolle enjoy many more returns of such family reunions at their home. Cora died two months shy of their 62nd wedding anniversary, on 06 June 1953, and was laid to rest in Beckwith Cemetery. Jim followed almost ten years after Cora passed away at the age of 95 on 27 January 1963, in Charles City at the Chatauqua Guest House. He was laid to rest in Beckwith Cemetery beside his beloved wife. Jim and Cora are my great grandparents.
