Wright was born in Morrow County, Ohio, October sixth, 1846, and passed away on March 28, 1921, being 74 years, 5 months and 6 days old. At the age of two years he moved with his parents to Illinois where they settled in Ogle County, where he grew to manhood, with his sisters. At the age of 17 he enlisted in Co. C. Thirty Fourth Infantry at Franklin Grove, Illinois. He served 18 months and 13 days. In the year of 1866 he was united in marriage to Nancy Sylvina Rice, December 13. They moved to Kansas in September 1870 and settled on their homestead in 1871, in Cloud County, where they lived and raised their family, four girls and two boys who have all married and settled around them. On account of failing health they left the farm and moved into Glasco in the fall of 1909, where they both lived until the death of his wife March 15, 1917, and he continued to occupy the home until May 25, 1920, when he married Mrs. Adelia J. Fort. They lived happily until his death, march 28, 1921. At the age of 35 he began studying the scriptures for himself and in the instructions he received from them he selected the Church of God, as one Lord, one faith and one baptism, and he rested his promises on the hope of Christ, of a resurection from the dead. He chose for his proof text for a scripture lesson to be read at his funeral, 1 Corinthian, 15th Chapter. Funeral services were held at the home of his son, L.A. Wright, on Tuesday, March 29, at 2 p.m., conducted by Mr. Noah Harper, and interment was in the Macyville cemetery.
