At the age of four years she moved with her parents to Illinois and they settled in Ogle county where she grew to womanhood with her brothers and sisters. At the age of sixteen she united with the Christian church and in the faith of that church she continued many years. In the year 1866 she was united in marriage to J.I. Wright, December 31st. In September 1870, they moved to Kansas and in 1871 they settled on their homestead in Cloud county where they lived and raised their family, four girls and two boys which have all married and settled around them. On account of failing health they left the farm and moved into Glasco in the fall of 1909 where they have since lived. In studying the scriptures she became dissatisfied with some of their teachings of the Christian church and she united with the Church of God in the spring of 1881, because the Church of God teach that man is mortal and receives immortality only through Jesus Christ at the resurrection of the dead. See St. John 11, 25th verse, "And Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection and the life; he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live." When at the resurrection morn her faith and hope are raised on these promises, and the choice for the lesson to be read was First Corinthians, 15th chapter, the whole chapter. Grandma Wright, as she was widely known, has left many friends behind who will always remember her kind and loving disposition and who was always ready to help those who needed her. Her place can never be filled and the memory of her sweet face will always dwell in the hearts of the loved ones left behind. The funeral was held at the house Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. Mr. J.N. Beaver, and old friend of the family and by request, had charge of the service and the body was laid to rest in the Macyville cemetery.
