He came to Big Timber, Montana, in 1928, and was the minister of the Church of God through 1929. He was born Oct. 1, 1899, at Statesboro, Georgia, and was a retired minister of the Pentecost Church of God. The Rev. Martin was married to Edna Boyd Walker on June 6, 1944, at Superior, Montana. He was born Oct. 1, 1899, at Statesboro, Georgia, and was a retired minister of the Pentecost Church of God. The Rev. Martin was married to Edna Boyd Walker on June 6, 1944, at Superior, Montana. He was pastor of a church at Coeur d'Alene, Idaho for 15 years, where he also worked in the sawmills. He lived at Salem, Ore., and Medford, Ore., before moving to Moses Lake in 1970. The Rev. Martin managed the Sage and Sand Motel in Moses Lake from 1970 to 1971. Survivorsthree include his widow, Edna Martin of Moses Lake, three sons, Paul Martin of Georgia, Julius Martin in Canada, and Howard Martin in Korea, two daughters, Esther Clark of Missoula and Beatrice Strickland of North Carolina; one stepson Bill Walker, in Idaho, three stepdaughters, Helen Lasson in Washington, Bonnie Geiger in Washington, and Patricia Hernandez in California; a brother, Benjamin Martin of Georgia; two sisters, Sally Johns and Thelma Reade, both of Georgia; and numerous grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Lowry Funeral Home with the Rev. E. H. Bradfield of the Church of God officiating. Burial was in Mountain View Cemetery. Casket bearers were Albert Osen, Gordon Osen, Lewis Larson, Laurence Larson, Jim Howe, George Lamach.
