Description	:	James Kosar died at his home here Saturday evening at 8:10 following an extended illness. He was the son of John and Barbara Kosar, born in Bohemia, December 4, 1870 and was 77 years, 9 months and 28 days. He came to this country at the age of seven with his parents and located near Nevinville. He spent the remainder of his life in this community. He was the son of John and Barbara Kosar, born in Bohemia, December 4, 1870 and was 77 years, 9 months and 28 days. He came to this country at the age of seven with his parents and located near Nevinville. He spent the remainder of his life in this community. In 1906 he was employed as assistant cashier of the Nevinville Savings bank. He was made cashier in 1920 and remained with the bank until he retired in the fall of 1946. He was a member of the Yeoman lodge and Z.C.B.J. He was an active member of the community and was always known to his many friends as Jim. On January 24, 1917 he married to Clara A. Blazek who survives with one son, James Jr.; daughter-in-law, Margaret M.; granddaughter Teresa Rose; and two brothers, Joseph of Hanna, Wyoming and John of Orient; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by three children, two in infancy, and Rosie M. at 22 years; one grandson, his mother and father, one sister and two brothers. Bressler of Lansing, Iowa who was assisted by the local minister, Rev. Hartin. Burial was made in the Bohemian Cemetery near Williamson. Relatives who attended the funeral from Omaha were Mr. and Mrs. John Taha, Mrs. Emile Halvka, Mr. Lee Bartlett, Mr. and Mrs. George Hofmann, Mr. and Mrs. Andy Hofmann, Mr. and Mrs. Will Hofmann, Mrs. George Schlegnabopf, Mrs. Clarence Carlin, Mr. and Mrs. T. Harry Vicker of Des Moines, Mrs. Kate Feuring, Rudy Feuring, and Mr. and Mrs. John Huss and son of Kellerton. Creston News Advertiser October 4, 1948 Page 1 James Kosar, 77, Dies at Nevinville NEVINVILLE - James Kosar, 77, retired farmer and banker here, died at his home here at 7:34 p.m. Saturday, after a year's illness. He had lived in the Nevinville community since he was seven years old. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will announced later. The services will be held in the Nevinville Methodist church with Rev. Z. M. Bressler, assisted by Rev. Hartin officiating. Burial will be in the Bohemian national cemetery at Williamson in Adams county. His body will remain at McGregor Brothers and Coens' funeral home in Creston until arrangements for the funeral are complete. James Kosar was born in Czechoslovakia Dec. 4, 1870. He was the son of John and Barbara Marik Kosar. He came to the country with his parents when he was seven and they settled in Adams county, near Nevinville, where he spent the remainder of his life. He was married at Corning January 24, 1927 to Clara A. Blazek, who survives him. Also surviving are a son, James Kosar, Jr. of Nevinville; and two brothers, Joseph Kosar of Hanna, Wyoming and John Kosar of Orient. Three children preceded him in death, two in infancy. Joseph J., Louis M., and Rosie M. Mr. Kosar retired in the fall of 1946. He was a member of the Yeoman and ZCBJ lodges. Mr. Kosar joined the Nevinville savings bank in 1908 as assistant cashier. He was made cashier of the bank in 1920 and remained in the bank's service until his retirement in 1946.
