Mr. Masterson was born in May 1853, near Moravia, Iowa. He came to Clay county (sic), Nebraska, when he was 16 and was one of the pioneer settlers of Marshall township (sic). Masterson of Fairfield died in the Mary Lanning hospital (sic) in Hastings, December 30. Mr. Masterson was born in May 1853, near Moravia, Iowa. He came to Clay county (sic), Nebraska, when he was 16 and was one of the pioneer settlers of Marshall township (sic). He and his wife and children lived in the Hedge Valley neighborhood until 1905. He lived near Norton, Kansas, for a time and has lived in Fairfield for more than thirty years. He is survived by three daughters, Anna, Myreta, and Clara; two sons, John and Bert. All except John Masterson were in Fairfield to attend the funeral which was held in the Christian church (sic in Fairfield Monday afternoon, January 4. Roy Coop of Clay Center conducted the services. Burial was made in the Fairfield cemetery (sic). Mrs. S. C. Shuck (Anna) of Sturgis, S. D.; Mrs. Myreta Kuhlman of Elks Springs, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs. Bert F. Masterson and children of Norton, Kas.; and Mr. and Mrs. Grover Lamparp (Clara) of Grand Rapids, Mich., were in Fairfield to attend the funeral.
