Description	:	RANCHER DIES James N. Cummings, 59, Cascade area rancher, died Saturday evening in a weather-related incident. A Cascade County Sheriff's Office spokesman said Cummings apparently suffered a heart attack after assisting to free a car from a snowdrift. He was taken to the Highway Grocery in Cascade to be treated by the quick response unit stationed in the community. However, he was dead on arrival at the store. Cummings, 59, Cascade area rancher, who died Saturday evening in a weather related incident. Cummings apparently suffered a heart attack after helping travelers free their car from a snowdrift on the Cascade-Sun River Cutoff. He was taken for emergency treatment to the Highway Grocery in Cascade but was dead on arrival. Born in Castner Falls which is south of Ulm, he went to elementary school there before graduating from Cascade High School in 1936. He served overseas with Army Air Corps as a mechanic during World War II. He ranched near Cascade most of his adult life. He was past president of the Cascade Rural Fire Department and a member of the Cascade County Rural Fire Department. He served ten years on the Agricultural Bowling League. Surviving are his wife, Louise, Cascade; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Johnnie) Yashenko, Helena, and Jimmie Lou Cummings with the U.S. Navy in Newport, R.I.; two grandsons, Cascade; two brothers, William H. Cummings, Castner Falls and Elijay Cummings, Fort Shaw, and three sisters, Mrs. (Curtis) Jessie Coleman, and Mrs. Ed (Margaret) Freiboth, Castner Falls and Mrs. Loren (Esther) Moriey, Harlowtown.
