He and his brother-in-law, C. L. Christensen, had operated that business in partnership since 1905. Prior to that they had been partners in the hardware business at Farwell, Nebraska six years. Born in Denmark Mr. Lang was born May 31, 1864 in Ribe, Denmark, and when 14 years old he came to this country with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Lang. They located at Dannebrog, Nebr. Mr. Lang, as a young man, spent periods of time in Omaha and St. Paul, working in hardware stores. His marriage to Kirsten Rasmussen took place Dec. 1, 1889 at Marquette, Nebr. They came to Audubon in 1905 from Farwell, Nebraska. Mr. Lang was a city councilman here two terms, and also served part of one term as mayor by appointment, following the death of the incumbent, the late Frank McLaughlin. He was a charter member of Our Savior's Ev. Lutheran church. The Survivors Surviving are the widow and six children: Sherman Lang, Audubon; Maye Martinsen, Los Angeles, Calif.; Myrtle Detwiler, Audubon; Victor Lang, Denver, Colo.; Florence Law, Audubon; Earl Lang, Audubon. There are eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, two brothers and two sisters. The brothers are Paul Lang, Boelus, Nebr. and Martin Lang, Lynch, Nebr. The sisters are Mrs. Karen Bertelsen, Dannebrog, Nebr. and Mrs. Christina (C. L.) Christensen, Audubon.
