Description	:	Earl Raymond Lang, the son of James and Kirsten Rasmussen Lang, was born Apr. 6, 1905 in Farwell, NE and died Nov 22, 1981 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, IA at the age of 76 years, 7 months and 16 days. He moved to Audubon with his family when he was six weeks old. Read More	Earl Raymond Lang, the son of James and Kirsten Rasmussen Lang, was born Apr. 6, 1905 in Farwell, NE and died Nov 22, 1981 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, IA at the age of 76 years, 7 months and 16 days. He moved to Audubon with his family when he was six weeks old. He was baptized and confirmed in Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Audubon, and graduated from Audubon High School with the Class of 1924. On Dec. 28, 1933 he married Ethel Sorensen in Denver, CO. They spent their married life in Audubon where he worked for many years in his father's hardware store and then started his own furniture store which he operated until his retirement in June, 1969. Ethel died Oct. 19, 1963. On Dec. 30, 1965 he married Betty E. Christensen in Audubon. He was a member of, and active in, Our Saviour's Lutheran Church and served his community as chairman of the Cancer Society, president of the Audubon School Board, on the Chamber of Commerce Board, and was on the Friendship Home Board when it was built. Preceding him in death was his wife Ethel; one daughter, Marianne Stewart, his parents, one brother, Sherman Lang; and two sisters, Maye Martinsen and an infant sister. Survivors include his wife, Betty, of Audubon; his daughter, Shirley Van Gorder of Madison, WI; five grandchildren: Edwin Van Gorder IV, New York City, NY; Tracie Van Gorder, Soquel, CA; Valerie Van Gorder, Missoula, MT; Christine Stuewart and Lauren Stewart, both of Willits, CA; one brother, Victor Lang; two sisters, Myrtle Detwiler and Florence Law; two sisters-in-law: Mayme Lang and Ruby Lang; and one brother-in-law, Mel Law, all of Audubon; and a number of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Harris Hostager on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1981 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Audubon at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Arlinton Heights Cemetery in Audubon. Casket bearers are Marvin Schmidt, Brian Schmidt, Paul Knudsen, James Knudsen, Mark Knudsen and Glenn Aagaard. From the Nishna Valley Tribune, Nov. 26, 1981, transcribed by Linda Berney
