Surrounded by family Jim left us on November 13, 2020. He was 68. A hard-working man, Jim lived for family. Read More	James "Jim" Norbert Lutters was born in Ransom, Kansas on March 25, 1952, one of thirteen children born to Joseph and Marcella (Kraus) Lutters. Surrounded by family Jim left us on November 13, 2020. He was 68. A hard-working man, Jim lived for family. A single father to his daughter Charity, he was also a much loved "second" dad to her friends. He was also a dotting grandfather who spent as much time as he could with his grandchildren. Jim was known by his family as Garage Sale King, all anybody is make comment they were looking for something and he would find. Even something’s they were not looking for. He never knew a stranger and was always one of the first to offer to help. He dedicated his life to helping and serving his community. He spent 38 years with the Ness County Road and Bridge and at the same time served 39 years in law enforcement. First as the Ransom Chief of Police, the only officer Ransom had, and later as a Ness County Deputy. He was also a volunteer fireman for the Ransom Volunteer Fire Department for 40 years and an ambulance driver for the Ransom EMS. In 2018 Jim retired but he continued to volunteer and help where he could. He is survived by his daughter, Charity (Albert), adopted daughters, Crys (Carl) & Christina; his grandchildren, Joseph (Chloe), Christopher, Kyle (Cherokee), Ali (David) and 6 great-grandchildren; siblings, Joe (Patti), Mary (Mel), Carol (George), Jeanette, Ed (Terri), Geri (Kent), Barb (Dave), Bill, Debbie (Ron), Kathy (Rich), and Richard; many nieces and nephews; a father in Law: Gordon; and sisters in Laws: Deb (Chris) &Heidi. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Marcella Lutters, his baby sister Cecilia, and his mother in law, Shirley. Viewing will be held at Fitzgerald Funeral Home on Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Graveside funeral service will be at the St. Aloysius Cemetery, Ransom, Kansas on Friday, November 20, 2020, 10:00 a.m. Memorial contributions can be made to Ransom Volunteer Fire Department and North Ness County EMS. Memories and words of support may be left for the family by writing in the guest book.
