Description	:	James Patrick Taylor passed away Saturday, January 9th 2021 at Enloe Hospital in Chico. He was born June 3rd, 1937 in San Francisco to Carl and Zeta Taylor as the youngest of 9 children. He grew up working at the family ranch south of Willows - hunting was a big family past time. He attended Willows schools, played in the band, boxed, and was on the football team. Classmates voted him as the Homecoming King just to see him kiss a girl - he was very shy! He signed up for the Army, along with friend Jack Cook, in April... Read More	James Patrick Taylor passed away Saturday, January 9th 2021 at Enloe Hospital in Chico. He was born June 3rd, 1937 in San Francisco to Carl and Zeta Taylor as the youngest of 9 children. He grew up working at the family ranch south of Willows - hunting was a big family past time. He attended Willows schools, played in the band, boxed, and was on the football team. Classmates voted him as the Homecoming King just to see him kiss a girl - he was very shy! He signed up for the Army, along with friend Jack Cook, in April 1957. He went to Ft. Lewis, WA and qualified for the 39th Infantry Rifle Team. He competed all over the United States, winning many medals and prizes, including his favorite hunting rifle. He was discharged in 1959, and returned home. He continued working at the Spooner Ranch and playing music with Jack Cook and Darrell Allen. In May 1961 he met his wife to be on a blind date, Janice Simson. Six months later they married. He also continued playing music for 20 some years, and farmed alfalfa & rice for over 45 years until he retired. He is preceded in death by Sr. Carolita Taylor, Bill, Don, Ebb and Buddy. He is survived by Sr. Jacquetta Taylor, Smoke Green and Crunch Taylor & also his wife, Janice of 59 years and children Michael (Lorie) of Lake Forest, CA, David (Diane) of Bayliss, CA, Cindy McConnell of Willows, CA, grandchildren Reed (Brooke), Lacey T., Darcy, Alexander, Raylan, Erika, Patrick, Carissa, Lacey M., Kayli (Luke), and great grandchildren Natalie, Portia, Mason, and Logan. Services will be held in Willows on Wednesday, January 20th. A private Rosary for immediate family will be held at the Catholic church at 11:00 AM, followed by a public graveside service in the Catholic cemetery at 12:00 PM. Reception to follow immediately.
