Read More	Monroe News (Monroe, Nebr.), November 30, 1933, p. 1, col. 1 JAMES WALSH DEAD. James Walsh, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Pat Walsh, of Monroe, met an accidental death from a shotgun at the W. J. Jenkinson home north of Monroe soon after noon today (Wednesday). He had been husking corn and had unloaded and eaten dinner and was ready to start back to the field. It seems that as he went to get into the wagon the team started up and it is not known whether he was handling the gun, which he had been using to shoot rabbits, or whether it fell and discharged as he was getting into the wagon. The shot tore the flesh from his arm near the elbow and entered his stomach on the right side tearing a large hole. It was a double-barreled hammer shot gun and it is though that both barrels were discharged at once. Following the accident he was able to walk nearly to the house when he fell. He was seen by a member of the family and a doctor and other assistance was called to help care for him. His parents were called and he knew them and was conscious up until a short while before he died, death coming at about 3:30. The body was removed to the Gass Funeral Home at Columbus to be prepared for burial. No plans have been announced for the funeral service. ``````` December 7, 1933, p. 1, col. 3 JAMES PATRICK WALSH James Patrick Walsh was born at Cedar Rapids, Boone County, Nebr., May 19, 1915, and passed from this life November 29, 1933, at the age of 18 years, 6 months, and 10 days. He moved with his parents to Belgrade, Nebr., in 1916 where they resided until 1926 when they moved to Genoa, Nebr., later moving to Monroe where he lived until he met with his sad death which occured on the Wm. Jenkinson farm one mile north of Monroe, from an accidental discharge of a shotgun. He leaves to mourn his death his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Pat Walsh of Monroe, four brothers: Joseph, Virgil, Robert, and Paul, four sisters: Lucy, Arleen, Katheryn, and Agnes. Funeral services were held Saturday morning from St. Peters Church at Fullerton, with Father Virgil officiating. Interment was made in Fullerton Cemetery. The pallbearers were: Hugo Fittje, Clinton Farmer, Louis Hamner, Bernard Pearson, Leo and Edwin Egan. Relatives from out of town attending the funeral were: Mrs. Chas. Wisler of Sutherland, Nebr., Mr. and Mrs. John E. Martin and son, Patrick, of Greeley, Nebr., Mr. and Mrs. Earle Boyde of Cedar Rapids, Nebr., Mr. and Mrs. James Walsh, and children, Mary Ellen, Clement, Lyle and Anna Mae of Belgrade, Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Babbitt and daughters Katheryn, and Blanche, Miss Mary Walsh and Miss Theresa Walsh of Belgrade. A precious one from us has gone, A voice we loved is stilled, His place is vacant in the home, Which never can be filled.
