Undated Clipping: Obituary A few minutes before 12 o'clock on Thursday night an old pioneer settler of Mono passed over to the silent majority in the person of Jas Pierson, at his residence in the South Ward, where he had been living for the past couple of years. The deceased had passed the allotted scriptural span, being 72 years of age and died hopeful of the resurrection which is promised to all who endeavor to follow in the footsteps of the Redeemer. The late Mr. Pierson was a native of Armagh, Ireland, but removed to Canada when a young man. He settled on lot 2, 3rd line east, Mono, and for 40 years was an industrious and respected resident of the banner township. His wife and a family of seven children, four sons and three daughters, survive him. The funeral to the Forest Lawn cemetery on Sunday afternoon was largely attended, many of the old neighbors of the deceased coming to town to pay the last tribute of respect to one who enjoyed their friendship and good will in life. Mr Pierson formerly lived near Mono Mills.
