Description	:	James (Pete) Madson, 90, died at the Veterans Hospital in Grand Island on Tuesday, October 15, 1974. Mr. Madson was born to Peter Madson and Anna Jensen, on a farm near Osakis, Minnesota, in 1884. In 1903 he enlisted in the United States Navy from which he was honorably discharged in 1909. In 1911 he enlisted in the United States Army for three years. While in the Army he was with the United States troops that invaded Vera Cruz, Mexico, on April 12, 1914. Mr. Madson was born to Peter Madson and Anna Jensen, on a farm near Osakis, Minnesota, in 1884. In 1903 he enlisted in the United States Navy from which he was honorably discharged in 1909. In 1911 he enlisted in the United States Army for three years. While in the Army he was with the United States troops that invaded Vera Cruz, Mexico, on April 12, 1914. He was also a member of the National Guard. He was a member of the Odd Fellow Lodge fir 65 years and a charter member of the V.F.W. and a Post Commander. August 16, 1916, he was united in marriage to Thora Sorensen. They lived on a farm northwest of Superior until 1942 when they retired and moved to Superior. Mrs. Madson preceded him in death on May 8, 1970. Survivors are three stepsons, Ole Sorensen of Orange, California, Harry Sorensen of Superior and Theodore Sorenson of Hemet, California; one brother, Mogens Madson of Superior; one nephew, Ted Madson of Nelson; four grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were held from the Megrue-Price Funeral Chapel Saturday, October 19. Pastor Marion Knoell officiated.
