Clites, son of William and Mary Clites, deceased, was born Nov. 19, 1872, at Dixon, Illinois, and was called by our Heavenly Father from his earthly career early Friday morning, Dec. 2, 1932, at his home in Emerson, Iowa. His brief life span was 60 years and 13 days. Clites, son of William and Mary Clites, deceased, was born Nov. 19, 1872, at Dixon, Illinois, and was called by our Heavenly Father from his earthly career early Friday morning, Dec. 2, 1932, at his home in Emerson, Iowa. His brief life span was 60 years and 13 days. Mr. Clites came to Iowa with his parents in 1873 when he was six months old and they settled on a farm five miles south of Emerson, the farm which later became his own. On February 22, 1908, he was united in marriage to Miss Beulah M. Osborne, at the Baptist parsonage in Glenwood. Shortly afterwards they went to Louisville, Nebraska, where they lived the first year they were married, where they ran a meat market. After which they returned to Iowa, and lived 10 years on the farm mentioned above. On March 1, 1920, he moved to Emerson, where he made his home and engaged in trucking. Those who survive him are his wife, Beulah M. Clites; one sister, mrs. Helen Anstine of Tamora, Nebraska, and a brother, Bert Clites of Emerson and many other relatives and friends. Three sisters and four brothers preceded him in death. Mr. Clites was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America. he was a man highly esteemed by all who knew him; he merited this esteem by the honest and consientious life he lived among them. Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church in Emerson, Sunday, December 4, at 2 o'clock p.m. and were in charge of the pastor Rev. J. F. Stille. Music was furnished by H. E. Greenwood, R. L. Fields, I. N. Cheney, and Fred J. Stille, with Miss Ruth Cheney at the piano. Pallbearers were John Honeyman, J. A. Jenkins, Henry Schick, W. T. Snodgrass, H. C. Knight, and R. E. Good. The flower ladies were Mrs. R. W. Davis, Mrs. Dess Cole, Mrs. W. W. Good, and Mrs. A. W. Shanor. The attendance was so large that every available space in the main auditorium and the large Sunday school room was filled and many were outside who could not get in.
