JULIAN James Renne Julian, 82, pioneer farmer of Casa Grande Valley, died Monday, July 23, at Pinal General Hospital, in Florence. He took up desert entry land southwest of Coolidge 41 years ago, coming here in 1910 from Washington state. Funeral services were held at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning at Cole and Maud chapel, with cremation in Phoenix. The service here was conducted by the Rev. J. N. Campbell, pastor of the Boulevard Baptist Church. As long as his health permitted Mr. Julian was acitve in church work and was a Baptist throughout his life. He was born August 31, 1868, at Russell, Iowa and in 1923 Married Julia Huff, a teacher of Spokane, Washington. They spent their summers in Washington, where Mr. Julian also had farming interests, and their winters here until 1935, when they made their permanent home on their farm in the Randolph district. Mrs. Robert Baker sang two request solos during the service, "Oh Love That Will Not Let Me Go," Mr. Julian's favorite hymn, and "Home of The Soul." Mrs. A. D. Tyler was at the Organ. Survivors include the widow, Julia; one daughter, Mrs. Marvin (Francelle) Edwards of Glendale, Ariz. and a sister, Mrs. L. A. Shular of Wilmar, California. Interment was made in the Bethel Cemetery, Russell, Iowa on Wednesday afternoon, September 26, 1951 at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. E. C. Bennett officiating. Obituary courtesy of Charles M. Wright
