Campbell Funeral services for James Robert Campbell, 81, well known former resident of Big Timber, were held at the Lowry funeral home Wednesday afternoon, Rev. P. N. Bennett officiating. Mr. Campbell died of a heart ailment at the home of a son, Charles Campbell, in Eureka, California., December 9. Music was by Mrs. Ted C. Busha accompanied by Mrs. Mervin Sell, and pallbearers were six grandsons: Tommy, Bobby and Bud Jarrett, Russell and Jack Webb and Jimmy Campbell. Burial was in Mountain View. Mr. Campbell was born in Kirkwood Ill., March 5, 1968, the third of five children born to Mr. and Mrs. William Campbell. He was married to Blanche A. Cannon February 15, 1893, in Littel York, Ill., and they lived on a farm in Illinois until 1914 when they came to Big Timber, purchasing the Hauge ranch north of town. They moved to Hardin in 1919 and resided there until Mts. Campbell's death in March 1936. Mr. Campbell then came to the Tom Jarrett ranch on Duck creek where he resided a large share of the time since. He also spent considerable time visiting in California. He had made his home with his son in California since 1946. Survivors are four sons and two daughters, Claude Campbell of Livingston, Hazel Webb of Butte, Charles Campbell of Eureka Calif., Edna Jarret of Big Timber, Russell Campbell of Helena, and Kenneth Campbell of Yankton S. D.; also 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Another daughter, Winifred, died in February 1930. Contributor: Julia Kinsey (48922386) •
