Read More	Last Friday afternoon about two o'clock, a dense cloud of black smoke was seen towards the north and was located in the vicinity of the James Foulon home. While a number of men, with Mr. Foulon, who had just come to town, were discussing the location of the fire, Eddie Maranello, a neighbor boy, came dashing down main-street on horseback and informed Mr. Foulon that his large new barn was on fire, and that his youngest son was missing. Just then, Bert Aldrich came up with his automobile and taking with him,Dr. Ashby. Mr. Foulon and Mr. Frappia, hastened to the scene of the disaster. Quite a company of men had gathered by that time and every effort to locate the boy proved unavailing until the building was quite well consumed, when in the extreme northwest corner, part of the remains of the unfortunate child were discovered, removed and cared for. The generally accepted theory of the sad affair is that in some way, the child procured matches, climbed into the hay loft, and set fire to the dry hay near the place of ingress and egress, thus effectually cutting off his escape from the burning building. In the portion of the barn where the remains were found, was a room used as a sleeping room by some of the farm hands. In this, it seem the frightened child took refuge, where it is supposed suffocation took place some time before the flames reached him. The child was seen by his mother at the well some twenty or thirty minutes before the fire was discovered, where he assisted her in getting a pail of fresh water. It was the last time he was seen alive. On Saturday, July 15th, at 3:00 o'clock p.m., all that was mortal of James Robert Foulon, was carried from the home of his parents to the Fairmont cemetery and quietly laid to rest after a brief and impressive service conducted by Rev. M.C. Brooks of the M.E. church, assisted by Rev. C.H. Beaver of the Congregational church. Mrs. J.T. Berwell, Mrs. J.U. Garey and Mabel Jackson rendered a number of musical selections appropriate for the occasion. The deceased was aged five years, eight months and eight days, and leaves a kind, devoted, but grief stricken father, mother, sister and brother, who have the utmost respect and heartfelt sympathy of this entire community. The numerous and beautiful floral offerings, both in the home and at the grave, attest the high esteem in which the family is held and the efforts of friends to share their sorrow, heal their wounds and comfort their hearts.
