Dose, 80, a native of Walcott, who for a number of years had farmed in the vicinity of Pleasant Prairie, died at 8:10 p.m. Thursday in Bellevue hospital, Muscatine, following a brief illness. A resident of Muscatine county the greater part of his life, Mr. Dose was born Sept. 6, 1870, and married Margaret J. Illian, Nov. 18, 1891. A resident of Muscatine county the greater part of his life, Mr. Dose was born Sept. 6, 1870, and married Margaret J. Illian, Nov. 18, 1891. The couple engaged in farming in Muscatine county until retiring in 1940, when they went to Muscatine. In 1942 they moved to Wilton Junction. Mrs. Dose died last May, and since that time Mr. Dose had been making his home with two daughters, Mrs. Walter Hnke, RR No 2, Muscatine, and Mrs. Florence Bloehs, RR No. 1, Wilton. In addition to these daughters, Mr. Dose is survived by three other daughters, Mrs. Carsten Frank and Mrs. Bessie Jenkins, both of Davenport, and Mrs. Alfred Ehrecke, Wilton Junction; a sister, Mrs Chattie Goering, Grinnell, and five grandchildren. A grandson, two brothers and a sister preceded him in death. The body was removed to Runge mortuary, where it will remain until 9 a.m. Monday. At that time it will be taken to the Presbyterian church, Wilton Junction, where services will take place at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Blue Grass cemetery.
