Dose, 78, a resident of Wilton Junction the last six years, died at 8:12 p.m. Friday in St. Luke's hospital following a lingering illness. A native of Fulton township, Muscatine county, Mrs. Dose, the former Margaret J. Illan, was born March 30, 1872, the daughter of Frederick and Elizabeth Illan. She was married to James R. Dose Nov. 18, 1891, in Rock Island, and following their marriage the couple engaged in farming in Muscatine county until retiring 10 years ago.... Dose, 78, a resident of Wilton Junction the last six years, died at 8:12 p.m. Friday in St. Luke's hospital following a lingering illness. A native of Fulton township, Muscatine county, Mrs. Dose, the former Margaret J. Illan, was born March 30, 1872, the daughter of Frederick and Elizabeth Illan. She was married to James R. Dose Nov. 18, 1891, in Rock Island, and following their marriage the couple engaged in farming in Muscatine county until retiring 10 years ago. They observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1941. A lifelong resident of Muscatine county, Mrs. Dose was affiliated with the Presbyterian church of Wilton Junction; the Electa chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, chapter No. 32 of Muscatine, the Rose Croix Shrine of Muscatine, and the White Shrine of Jerusaleum, Three sisters and four brothers preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband, five daughters, Mrs. Carsten Frank, Davenport; Mrs. Alfred Ehrecke and Mrs. Harry Blochs, both of Wilton Junction; Mrs. Bessie Jenkins, Durant, and Mrs. Walter Henke, Muscatine; five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. The body was removed to Runge mortuary, where it will remain until 9 a.m. Monday. At that time it will be taken to the Presbyterian church, Wilton Junction, for services there at 2 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Blue Grass cemetery. aft 13 May 1950 - Daily Times Dose Funeral. Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Dose were held at 2 p.m. Monday in First Presbyterian church, Wilton Junction, the Rev. Hugh Roberrts officiating. Mrs. Marian Henderson was soloist, accompanied by Mrs. Emma Bikhofer at the organ. Burial was in Blue Grass cemetery. Pallbearers were Dick Broders, Walter Baker, Walter Thomsen, Gerald Ochiltree, Nevin Kelley and Max Leufer.
