Description	:	MANSON - James R. Blair, Sr., 69, died on Wed. Jan 11, 2012, at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be today from 5 until 7 p.m. at Larson-Weishaar Funeral Home in Manson. Funeral services will be on Sat. Jan. 14 at 12:00 p.m. at Larson-Weishaar Funeral Home with Rev. Deborah Parkison officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. Dodge, IA, the son of James L. and Edith B. (Hines) Blair. He attended elementary school in Yetter, IA, and graduated from high school in Dryden, Michigan. Prior to his graduation from high school, he enlisted in the U. S. Navy in 1961, serving until his retirement in 1985, having attained the rank of Senior Chief, working as a Boiler Tech. He married Joyce Dillahay on Aug. 28, 1963, at Portsmouth, VA. They lived in Portsmouth and Virginia Beach, VA until June of 1992, when they moved to Manson. He was employed at Smithway Trucking for 3 years, then worked as a mechanic and groundskeeper for 14 years at Ft. Dodge Country Club, which he greatly enjoyed, retiring due to health problems. Jim loved bowling and bowled at Ridgewood Lanes for 18 years. During that time he achieved the goal of bowling a perfect 300 game. He also enjoyed building and flying radio-controlled airplanes at Rockwell City, IA. He served his country, he flew his planes, he bowled his 300, and he was loved and still is. Jim is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joyce; son Jaymie (Susan) Blair of Rock Rapids, IA; daughter Krystal (Michael) Rogers of Bremerton, WA; grandchildren James K., Cody L., Noah H., Nolan K., and Breeanna R.; mother Edith Blair of Fonda, IA; siblings Kenneth Blair of Plymouth, MI; Danny Blair of Cedar Rapids, IA; Beverly (William) Kobe of Waterford, MI; Paul (JoAnn) Blair of Harlan, IA; Brad (April) Blair of Humboldt, IA. He was preceded in death by his father. ********** Let it be noted that James Roger Blair is not interred in any cemetery at this time. There are plans to inter his cremated remains in Lake City Cemetery, Lake City, Calhoun County, Iowa during the summer of 2017. This information is stated by his widow, Vivian Joyce Blair on 3 May, 2017. She currently has custody of Jim's remains.
