Description	:	James S. Sanders, seventy-three, years of age, who had been making his home with his daughter, Mrs. B. Bryson, three miles north of town for the past four years, is dead as the result of a stroke of paralysis which he suffered a week ago last Sunday at eight o’clock in the evening. Death ensued the following Friday at twenty minutes past three o’clock in the morning. The funeral was held last Saturday at one o’clock under the ministration of Rev. J. K. Driver, pastor of the Presbyterian Church at Villisca and interment was made in the Villisca Cemetery. Read More	James S. Mr. Sanders was not widely known in this immediate vicinity, having come here but recently and being of advanced age, did not take much part in the active affairs in this community. He was born in Washington County, Pennsylvania, March 4, 1935 and lived in that locality until fifteen years of age when he moved with his parents to Danville, Iowa. After twelve years there he located in Powesheilt County near Montezuma. He was married to Annie J. Collision, September 8, 1876. She died in 1877. On September 30, the following year, Mr. Sanders was again married to Miss Emma Dixon. To this union were born six children. Mr. Sanders moved to Adams County near Nodaway sometime in the 80’s and was a prominent frame in different localities there for many years. He lived south of Villisca for a while before coming to make his home with his daughter, Mrs. Bryson. He was one of a family of eight children, but a brother and sister are the only ones alive at the present time. The names of Mr. Sanders’s sons and daughters left to mourn his demise are; Worthy Sanders of Colorado; Mrs. B. E. Bryson of Villisca; Arthur Sanders of Nodaway; Mrs. Effie Wales of Downs, Kansas; Miss Verdie Sanders, who made her home with her sister north of Villas and Leslie Sanders of Sloan, Iowa.
