Description	:	J.T. McDill of this place died Tuesday morning, after an illness of several months. He was buried in Due West Cemetery. The funeral services being conducted by his pastor, the Rev. J.P. Pressly, assisted by Dr. J.S. Moffatt and Dr. G. Parkinson. Mr McDill was one of the most prominent men of the town, both in business and church affairs. He was reared near Due West, went to Erskine college, taught school for a number of years and after clerking a while at Lowndesville, he moved to Due West, where he went into the mercantile business and has been here since with... Read More	J.T. McDill of this place died Tuesday morning, after an illness of several months. He was buried in Due West Cemetery. The funeral services being conducted by his pastor, the Rev. J.P. Pressly, assisted by Dr. J.S. Moffatt and Dr. G. Parkinson. Mr McDill was one of the most prominent men of the town, both in business and church affairs. He was reared near Due West, went to Erskine college, taught school for a number of years and after clerking a while at Lowndesville, he moved to Due West, where he went into the mercantile business and has been here since with the exception of six or seven years, he was in Gastonia, N.C. Throughout his 35 or 40 years in mercantile business he has made a wide circle of friends. In the life of the town he was an active church worker and served for a long number of years as a deacon in the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church and later was elected an elder. On account of failing health he was forced to retire from business and in the early part of the summer he closed out his business. Since August he has been in a precarious condition. He is survived by his wife, who was Miss Lizzie Young, daughter of the Rev. C.H. Young, and three children, Misses Jean and May McDill, and William McDill. and two brothers, J.C.
