Wilson (Patterson) Everett, both of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his best friend and wife of 69 years, Virginia (Ginny) Kunz Everett. Jim was born on March 18, 1924, in Columbus, Ohio, to Floyd C. and Gladys M. Wilson (Patterson) Everett, both of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his best friend and wife of 69 years, Virginia (Ginny) Kunz Everett. Also surviving are daughters Linda (Craig) Hayden of Milford, Ohio and Leslie Borrieci of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania; grandson James Everett Borrieci (Theresa) and great grand-daughter, Gemma Borrieci of Uniontown, Ohio. Jim was a 1943 graduate of Grove City High School and attended Ohio State University. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, having obtained his pilot’s license at age 16, at the Sullivant Avenue Airport. He was a longtime associate (and partner in) F.K. Enzor Co., following in the footsteps of his father. In this capacity he was involved with many major lighting projects in Columbus, including the original Wildlights at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium and remodeling of the Ohio State House, as well as lighting and heating in new homes across the area. Jim and Ginny were married in Grove City in 1947, starting housekeeping in a small house on Arbutus Avenue. As their family grew, they moved to Harrisburg, Ohio in 1951, where they remained for 65 years. During this time Jim was active in the civic and social life of the Grove City and Harrisburg communities. He was involved in the founding of the Boy Scout Troop of the Grove City Methodist Church. He became a long time member of the Harrisburg United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir and served the church in a great many capacities. He was a 20-year member of the Harrisburg village council, including serving as president. He was honored as Harrisburg Citizen of the Year. For more than 60 years, Jim was a member of the Grove City Lions Club, where he also served as president and was honored with a lifetime achievement award in 2016. He was member and president of the Columbus Airstream Club, traveling the continent with the Wally Byam Caravans. In addition he was a member of VFW Post 11208 and Ohio History Connection. Jim had many interests, including photography, traveling, singing, gardening, and especially “puttering” around in his garage that was well-stocked with tools and “toys.” He could make or fix anything. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his family and many friends. A memorial service will be held at the Harrisburg United Methodist Church 1160 High Street Harrisburg, OH, followed by a luncheon, Pastors Edwin Martin and Robert Sholis officiating. Saturday, February 18, 2017, at 10:30 AM. Arrangements completed with THE SPENCE-MILLER FUNERAL HOME Grove City, OH. Cremains will be interred at the Galloway Cemetery.
