Funeral services were held this, Thursday afternoon from the Presbyterian Church, in charge of Rev. Joseph Andrews. James V. Alloway was born in Iowa in 1875 and came to Dakota Territory with his parents in 1882, and settled in Douglas county, where they resided four years, coming to Hand County in 1886. His mother died in 1890 and was buried in Como township on the home farm. His father died in Chicago in 1925 and is buried there. Surviving him are two sisters, both of whom are married and live in Canada. One lives at Ohaton and the other at Fort Kent, besides a number of nephews and nieces. In the neighborhood where he lived for many years, he was held in high esteem by his neighbors. He was friendly, kind, generous in his giving to things of community interest and always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. To all who knew him, his going is a source of deep regret.
