Vogan died at the home of John Coyne, near Durham, Okla., October 24, 1924. Mr. Vogan was an old resident of Skidmore vicinity, having lived southwest of town in the Harmony neighborhood for a number of years, caring for his mother until her death about sixteen years ago, after which he made his home in Durham, Okla., making frequent visits here to see his three sisters. James W. Vogan was born in Boone County, Indiana, November 29, 1855, and was 68 years, 10 months and 25 days old. He came to Missouri when a small boy. The only brother, Sam Vogan, died two years ago last July and his three sisters surviving are: Mrs. Wm. Sanders, Mrs. Mary B. King and Miss Jane Vogan, all of Skidmore, besides several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. The funeral services were held at the Burr Oak church Monday afternoon, October 27th, in charge of Rev. Reubin Barrett, assisted by R. D. McCance. The text was taken from Hebrews 9:27. Burial was in the Burr Oak cemetery. A large crowd attended the services, which were changed from Monday morning till the afternoon, on account of the body not making train connections. Card of Thanks We desire to thank the kind friends and neighbors who assisted us in the burial of our dear Brother and the sympathy and kind deeds that mean so much and also for the beautiful flowers and we feel so thankful to the friends who took care of Jimmie during his sickness. May God bless you. Mrs. Wm. Sanders, Mrs. Mary King, Miss Jane Vogan."
