Description	:	Mr. James Walter Keaton, 95, of Lake City passed away Saturday February 19, 2011 at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Keaton was a life long resident of the Lake City area. Mr. Keaton owned several businesses in the North Florida area, but most people new him for owning Keaton's TV and Sound in Lake City. Mr. Keaton served during World War II in the Army Air Corps, he then enlisted in the United States Air Force Reserve were he retired as a Major. Read More	Mr. James Walter Keaton, 95, of Lake City passed away Saturday February 19, 2011 at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Keaton was a life long resident of the Lake City area. Mr. Keaton owned several businesses in the North Florida area, but most people new him for owning Keaton's TV and Sound in Lake City. Mr. Keaton served during World War II in the Army Air Corps, he then enlisted in the United States Air Force Reserve were he retired as a Major. Mr. Keaton was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge # 642 and the American Legion Post # 57 both of Lake City. Mr. Keaton was of the Baptist Faith, and in his spare time he enjoyed flying, gardening, and making his own hot sauce. Mr. Keaton was preceded in death by his wife Irene Clements Keaton. Mr. Keaton is survived by three sons James A. Keaton (Pauline), Wesley R. Keaton, and Douglas W. Keaton all of Lake City. Eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral Services for Mr. Keaton will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 23, 2011 in the Dees-Parrish Family Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ivan Clements officiating. Interment will follow with Military Honors at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Lake City. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to The American Cancer Society, Columbia County Unit, 2119 SW 16th St, Gainesville, FL 32608.
