Pace, 74, of Gravette, Arkansas went home to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, January 15, 2012 at the Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, Arkansas after a long illness. James entered this life on November 22, 1937 in Gravette, Arkansas born to the late William and Marie (Bowles) Pace. He was raised in Gravette and was a graduate of Gravette High School. Pace, 74, of Gravette, Arkansas went home to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, January 15, 2012 at the Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, Arkansas after a long illness. James entered this life on November 22, 1937 in Gravette, Arkansas born to the late William and Marie (Bowles) Pace. He was raised in Gravette and was a graduate of Gravette High School. He furthered his education by attending the University of Arkansas. He moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where he met Pauline Claver and they were united in marriage on March 18, 1960. While in Tulsa he managed Goodyear Tire Company for fourteen years and was also active in the United States Air Force Reserves. In 1974 he and Pauline returned home Arkansas to work on the family farm. He raised cattle, gathered eggs and owned and operated a feed and fertilizer business for many years. James served ten years on the Gravette School Board and was a member and Deacon of the First Baptist Church in Southwest City, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of forty-eight years, Pauline Pace on December 27, 2008. James is survived by his two children, Daryl Pace and wife, Gina, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas and Pam Phillips of Gravette, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Stephanie Parris, Katherine Schneider, Erik Schneider and Jacob Phillips; three great grandchildren, Ethan Pace-Raymo, Kierstyn Parris and Jasmine Parris; a sister, Sondra Smith of Racine, Missouri; as well as a host of other family and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Pace are 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Southwest City, Missouri with Bro. Ricky Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Maysville Cemetery in Maysville, Arkansas. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Joey Stovall, Gary Mullen, Dale Andrews, Paul Bowles, Jesse Parris and Roy Key.
