The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), July 28, 1921; pg. 1 ====== BURY SOLDIER BOY James Wesley Creigler (sic) was born near Nelson, Nebr., February 14, 1892; died in France November 5, 1918, aged 26 years, 8 months and 21 days. He leaves to mourn his death a sister Mrs. George Troudt of Nelson; a half sister Mrs. Nellie Truax of Los Angeles, Calif.; a half brother Frank Creigler (sic) of McMinnville, Oregon; and a foster brother Dave. W. Kerrigan of Havelock. The remains reached here Saturday and were taken to the Roby undertaking parlors. On Sunday afternoon funeral services were held in the Park. Rev. Shirley conducted the service here and was assisted by Rev. F.E. Day, Rev. C. Bridges and Rev. H.G. Wilcox. The American Legion boys attended as a body in uniform and together with the Nelson band accompanied the remains to the Park and later to the cemetery where the ritualistic ceremony of the Legion was carried out. The funeral was largely attended by the citizens of Nelson and vicinity and the exercises throughout were very impressive. The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), August 4, 1921; pg. 1
