DUNNING DIES SUDDENLY SUNDAY James Dunning, 61 [sic] years old, 1121 Hayne street, died suddenly Sunday afternoon about 3:30, while visiting a neighbor at 1210 Railroad street. Death was said to have been due to apoplexy. There will be no inquest, according to John Drake, Wapello county coroner. Mr. Dunning had been employed at the local plant of John Morrell & Co. for many years. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mabel Dunning; five daughters, Mrs. Daisey Jennings, Mrs. Blanche Welch [sic], Mrs. Mabel Roberts, Mrs. Ruby Roberts, Mrs. Dorothy Arter; two sons Robert and Ralph Dunning, all of Ottumwa; two brothers, Wesley Dunning of Floris and Frank Dunning of Chicago. The body was removed to the Drake funeral parlors and was to be taken to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jennings, 1002 Hayne street, at 4 p.m. today. Friends may call there. Funeral services will be held at the Jennings home at 4 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Mr. Boyer of Ottumwa will officiate. Burial will be made in the Shaul cemetery.
