Read More	Gaffney, SC - - James Woodrow “Woody” Lester, 81, of 203 W. 9th Street, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at his residence. Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Laura Starnes Lester and son of the late Elzie Van Lester and Frances Allison Lester. He worked in residential construction for over 59 years and was the owner/operator of Lester Construction for over 20 years. He was a member of Kirby Memorial Baptist Church for over 61 years where he formerly served as a deacon, served in the bus ministry and various other committees. He loved his family and everyone else, loved his church, and most of all he loved the Savior. Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Cheryl Seibert and husband, James of Prosperty; two sons, Jimmy Lester and wife, Barbara, and Michael Lester and wife, Michelle, both of Gaffney; a brother, William Lester and wife, Judy, of Gaffney; a sister, Mary Lester Allison of Gaffney; a sister-in-law, Elaine Spencer Lester of Gaffney; six grandchildren, Nicholas Seibert, Adam Seibert, Phillip Lester, Patrick Lester, Brady Lester and Evelyn Lester; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Lester Blanton and a brother, Johnny Lewis Lester. Cryptside services will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Frederick Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Rev. Will Vergara officiating.
