Description	:	Many old residents will learn with regret of the death of James W. Boynton, who, although former living in Holderness was well known here. His death occurred Sunday, December 28 from pneumonia at the home of his son with whom he had lived for several years, at Hyde Park, Mass. Mr. Boynton was born in Thornton February 5, 1820 and is the only son of Nathan and Annie (Worthen) Boynton. Read More	Many old residents will learn with regret of the death of James W. Boynton, who, although former living in Holderness was well known here. His death occurred Sunday, December 28 from pneumonia at the home of his son with whom he had lived for several years, at Hyde Park, Mass. Mr. Boynton was born in Thornton February 5, 1820 and is the only son of Nathan and Annie (Worthen) Boynton. Soon after his birth his parents removed to Campton where his youth was spent learning the tanner's trade, which was his father's trade. Here he married Miss Louisa Durgin, who survives him after a married life of 55 years. He lived in Campton several years and after his marriage moved to Holderness. Several children blessed this union, six of whom are living; Charles A., who with his wife, has faithfully cared for his parents in their declining years, Fred T., who resides in Beachmont, Mass., Henry W. of Ashland, Mrs. C.F. Cox of Hyde Park., Mrs. V.B. Peakes, Boston and Frank J. of Hyde Park. Mr. Boynton was one of a family of four children of which it was remarkable that no death occurred for 75 years. Two sisters have died in recent years, and the only surviving member of the family is Mrs. Hannah H. Gilman now residing in Ashland with her daughter. Funeral services were held at the home in Hyde Park Tuesday afternoon and the remains, accompanied by the four sons as bearers and other relatives, were brought to Ashland Wednesday and placed in the receiving tomb to await burial in the family lot in Green Grove Cemetery.
