Jane Arlene Johnson, was born in Boone, Iowa on May 31, 1940, the daughter of Patrick and Grace (Sherrard) Burke. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Boone in 1959. On April 15, 1961, Jane married Donald Johnson at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Boone. Jane was a wife, mother, and homemaker. She enjoyed collecting dolls, reading, watching television especially Roseanne, and enjoying high school coffee reunions. Jane was a simple woman with a strong religious faith. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother Thomas Burke, two sisters, Doris Searls and Marilyn Schipper. Jane is survived by two sons, Tracy Johnson and wife RoseAnn of Boone and Troy Johnson and wife Donna of Des Moines; a daughter, Terri Nichols and husband Robin of Dubuque; a brother, Donald Burke of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren, Joshua Nichols of Iowa City, Casey Nichols of Dubuque, Wesley Johnson of Des Moines, Shane and Chelsie Brown of Des Moines, and Kyle, Kayla, and Kali Lucas all of rural Stanhope.. Friends may call at the Schroeder-Reimers Memorial Chapel on Thursday from 4 until 8 p.m., where the family will be present from 6 until 8 p.m. and a Vigil Service will be at 7 p.m. On Friday, friends may call at the funeral chapel from 8 until 10 a.m. In memory of Jane, memorials may be directed to the family.
