Jane Colleen Wells Montgomery was born December 24, 1931, in Grinnell, IA. Her parents were Lloyd Lewis Wells and Jessie McCosh Wells. Jane received her education in Brooklyn graduating from high school in the class of 1949. On April 8, 1950, she married William Albert Montgomery in the Presbyterian Church in Brooklyn, IA. They were the parents of three sons, William A. Jr., James, and David. They lived in Brooklyn until 1974, in Anchorage, Alaska, from 1974 to 1977 and after 1977 in West Des Moines, IA. While living in West Des Moines Jane was employed by University of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery as an accounts receivable clerk. Mr. Montgomery died December 19, 1992. Jane returned to Brooklyn in 2001. Jane was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Brooklyn, Beta Sigma Phi and various bridge groups. She enjoyed knitting Christmas Stockings, playing cards and in previous years enjoyed bowling and golfing. Her parents; her husband; her son James; and two brothers, Richard and Lloyd Wells, preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons, William A. Montgomery Jr. of Brooklyn and David Montgomery and his wife, Carla, of Rolling Meadows, IL.; a brother, Daryl Wells of Sioux City, IA; a sister, Maxine Smith of Louisville. KY; three grandchildren, Taylor, Brandon and Sean; and one great granddaughter, Sophia.
