Humboldt Union, 20 Nov 1913 Mrs. John W. Howard passed away at her home in this city on Saturday, November 15th at 12:30 o'clock. Jane Deborah Howard was born in York state Aug 4, 1832,(note: born 1834 not 1832) and was at the time of her death 81 years, 3 months, and 13 days old. She was married to John W. Howard on January 20, 1858, and to this union were born four sons. They are C. W., L. W., J. T. and B. C. Howard, all of whom with the husband survive her. Only one son was present at the time of her death, L. W. Howard, who makes his home with them. She united with the Christian church at an early age, being faithful until the end. Funeral services were held at the Christian church Tuesday at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. J. R. Nannings, and interment was in Mt. Hope cemetery. Out of town relatives who attended these services were: Mrs. H. S. Buck and son, Mr. Jesse Howard of Lake City, Kans.; Mr. C. W. Howard of Collinsville, Okla.; Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Shoemaker, Ruthdale, Okla., and Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Beeman of Maple Grove, Mrs. Beeman being a sister of the deceased.
