Biglin’s Mortuary in O’Neill is in charge of arrangements. Jane Kay (Hopkins) Kiser was born October 25, 1957 in Columbus, Nebraska to Boyd and Clara Hopkins. She attended District #3r country school near Bellwood, NE. and graduated from David City High School in 1976. She married Joseph “Bill” Kiser on May 26, 1983 in Columbus, Nebraska. To this union two daughters were born, Jacque and Kayla. They lived in Columbus for 20 years where Jane worked for Becton Dickinson. In 2001, the family moved back to the Kiser Ranch south of Inman and she worked for Elkhorn River Farms. Jane was very dedicated mother and spent many hours helping her girls with 4H projects and traveling to shows. She would make her home place feel like a park and loved playing and having fun with her grandchildren. She had a deep love of animals. She was an avid horse rider as she grew up riding and training horses. You could always find Jane barefoot around the house and she kept busy gardening, cooking, and hunting for mushrooms and asparagus. Jane was very blunt and people always knew where you stood with her. She was tough yet loving and she was known for her smile that could light up a room. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Joseph “Bill” Kiser of Inman, NE; daughters, Jacque Murray and husband Michael of Inman, NE, Kayla Kiser of O’Neill, NE; one grandchild, Annaleen Kiser; two step-grandchildren, Lane and Cabela Murray; brothers, Jess Hopkins and wife Brenda of Fort Morgan, CO, Jeffry Hopkins of Columbus, NE; Jake Hopkins and wife Jenny of Bellwood, NE; sister, Jill Mohr and husband Paul of Creston, NE; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Boyd and Clara Hopkins and brother, James Hopkins. (biglinsmortuary.com/obituary)
