Description	:	Jane Lucile (Ummach) Lipton, 89, of Ida Grove, Iowa, was the daughter of Carl E. and Jennie (Mitchell) Ummach. After graduating from Austin High School, Jane began work at the Harris Trust Bank in Chicago. Following a family move to Los Angeles, Calif., she continued her bank work with the Bank of America. During this employment, she met her husband, Jim Lipton. They were married on Oct. 25, 1941, in Los Angeles. In 1943, Jane and Jim moved to Ida Grove. Read More	Jane Lucile (Ummach) Lipton, 89, of Ida Grove, Iowa, was the daughter of Carl E. and Jennie (Mitchell) Ummach. After graduating from Austin High School, Jane began work at the Harris Trust Bank in Chicago. Following a family move to Los Angeles, Calif., she continued her bank work with the Bank of America. During this employment, she met her husband, Jim Lipton. They were married on Oct. 25, 1941, in Los Angeles. In 1943, Jane and Jim moved to Ida Grove. Here they raised three daughters and enjoyed nearly 63 years of marriage. Jane was very active in community life. She taught Sunday school for many years at First United Methodist Church, enjoyed her church circle and KCQ's (a group that "knits, crochets and quilts"). She volunteered many hours for the Horn Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and led several Girl Scout troops. Jane was a member of PEO, Chapter CB for 62 years and was a 50-year member of Eastern Star. Special school subjects were math, art and music. Jane loved to play her clarinet in marching band. Other special interests that she enjoyed were playing the piano, traveling, gardening, cooking, entertaining, doing needlework and playing cards with family and friends. Above all, she supported family activities and loved having the family together. Survivors include three daughters, Linda Hurd of Ida Grove, Carol Lipton of Aurora, Colo., and Marcia (Lance) Moore of Holstein, Iowa; five grandchildren, Maureen (Evan) Hause of Brooklyn, N.Y., Heather (Jason) Schneider of Waterloo, Iowa, Krista Moore of Reno, Nev., Tim (Melissa) Moore of Omaha, and Jena Lipton of Aurora, Colo.; four great-grandchildren, Trevor Lipton of Aurora, Camden Schneider of Waterloo, Iowa, Avery Moore of Omaha, and Elena Hause of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a brother, Carl (Bev) Ummach of Mesa, Ariz.; a nephew, Ed (Arlene) Ummach of Sioux City; a sister-in-law, Mary McFadden of Sun City, Ariz.; and a niece, Susan Farnham Kim of Loup City, Neb. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
