ALFRED FLATT: Mrs. Alfred Flatt, an old resident of Orangeville, passed away at the home of her son, Mr. Wilfrid Flatt, East Broadway, on Saturday, January 17th at the advanced age of 80 years. Deceased had been bedfast for the last year. The late Mrs. Flatt, whose maiden name was Jane McCutcheon, was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James McCutcheon, of Relessey, where she was born on March 1st, 1850. She had lived in Orangeville for 42 years and her husband died here 14 years ago. Her loss is mourned by a family of two daughters and four sons, Mrs. Jas. Rowland, Toronto, Mrs. Samuel Huston, Orangeville, Wesley Flatt, Velva, N.D., and Wilfrid, Lawrence and Norman Flatt, of Orangeville. Mrs. James Barber, West Toronto, is a sister and James McCutcheon, Mono Centre, R. J. McCutcheon, Relessey, and Alex. McCutcheon, Markdale, are the surviving brothers. The late Mrs. Flatt had been identified with Relessey Methodist Church in early life and was a member of First Avenue United Church. The funeral, which was largely attended by relatives and citizens, was held from her late home to the Forest Lawn Cemetery on Monday afternoon. Rev. E. W. McBrien conducted the service and was assisted by Rev. Alex. Halbert, of Newtonbrook, a nephew of the departed woman. The pallbearers were the four sons, her brother, R. J. McCutcheon, and a nephew, Bert McCutcheon. The flower bearers were four grandsons, Billie, Douglas and Norman Flatt and Arnold Huston.
