FromThe Grundy Register, Grundy Center IA, 03 Dec 1953 - Mrs. Jennie Haan, resident of Grundy Center for over sixty-five years, died at the home of her daughter in Milwaukee, Wis., on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1953. She was born July 8, 1865, in Ottawa, Ill, the daughter of Tama County pioneers. A member of the Methodist Church since 1893, she had been an ardent worker and officer in the various religious organizations of the church for many years. She was a charter member and past president of the Kings' Daughters and a member of the Shorewood Women's Club of Milwaukee. Her keen interest in current civic and religious projects continued to the day of her death and a certain constant faith sustained her to the end. Death was caused by a slight stroke complicated by an aggravated heart condition. She was preceded in death in 1937 by her husband and her daughter. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law of Milwaukee, Wis., and several nieces and nephews.
