Susan Bent was born January 23rd, 1847, in Littleport, Cambridge, England. In the year 1851, the deceased came with her parents to the United States and settled near Rochester, N.Y., living there for nine years. On March 6, 1866, she was united in marriage with Isaac Baldwin at Ottawa, Ill. They came to Iowa and lived there until 1879 when they moved to Inman, Nebraska. During that year, Mrs. Baldwin became a member of the Methodist church. For some years past and up to the time of her death she has resided with her husband at Lincoln, Nebr. Mrs. Baldwin has been in frail health for two years. Wishing to escape the vigor of a Northern winter, she spent the last few months at Fort Worth, Texas, where she passed away on Saturday afternoon, July 6th, 1918. Mrs. Baldwin leaves to mourn her loss, a husband, two daughters, Mrs. Jno Crotty of Ft. Worth, and Mrs. Will Watson of Lincoln, Nebr. Also one sister and one brother, Mrs. J C Haan of Grundy Center, Iowa, and Mr. Geo Bent of Knox, Ind., and six grandchildren. The funeral services were held in the Methodist church in Beaman Wednesday afternoon, and the sermon was preached by Rev. Dilman Smith of Grundy Center.
