Gay grew up on the family farm in Ballantine and also at her home in Billings. Therefore, she attended grade school in Billings, junior high in Huntley Project, and high school at Billings Senior. She passed away on January 19, 2017 in Roundup, MT. Gay grew up on the family farm in Ballantine and also at her home in Billings. Therefore, she attended grade school in Billings, junior high in Huntley Project, and high school at Billings Senior. Gay married Frank Holliday on Valentine’s Day in 1954. Together they ranched north of Roundup where Frank was the ranch manager of the Stanley-Holliday Simmental Ranch. This is where they raised their three wonderful sons – Jeff, Roger, and Dan. Throughout her life, Gay had the opportunity to hold leadership positions in various organizations. Gay served four terms in the House of Representatives of the Montana State Legislature. She was appointed to both the Governor’s Economic Advisory Council, and the Montana Agricultural Ad Hoc Committee. She was also elected the first Charter President of Montana Women Involved in Farm Economics (WIFE). Gay was a member of Rural American Women, the National Coalition of Family Farmers and the National Alternative Energy Council. Gay and Frank were co-founders of the Montana Simmental Association, the American Simmental Association, and the National Old Timers Rodeo Association (known today as the National Senior Pro Rodeo Association). Frank and Gay were the first inductees into the NSPRA Hall of Fame in 1995. Gay worked as Executive Secretary for the NSPRA for over twenty years. She also served on the Regional Council for the Developmentally Disabled and in DDPAC for Montana. Locally, she was a member of P.E.O., VFW Auxiliary Post #4295, the Rowdy Red Hat Ladies, Roundup Women’s Bowling Association, and Pine Ridge Country Club. Gay was a Past Worthy Matron and fifty-year member in the Jewel Chapter #48 of Order of Eastern Star. She served on the Musselshell County Fair Board, and was a board member of Latigo that produced the Montana Centennial Cattle Drive in 1989. Although very committed to these organizations, Gay was appreciated most in the home as a loving wife and mother. She instilled work ethic, integrity, class, and values into her children. As tragedy struck her life, Gay became a selfless caretaker to her son Jeff, and later in life to her husband Frank. Gay is preceded in death by her parents Virgil and Margaret, her husband Frank, and her two sons, Jeff and Roger. Also preceding her in death are her two brothers, Jesse Jean Fuller and Renna Fuller, and her sister Sharon Ibach. Gay is survived by her son Dan, his wife Sheryl, and her two grandchildren, Trey and Tanna. She is also survived by two brothers, Dean Fuller (Janice) and Jerry Althoff (Vicki), and two sisters, Delta Morales and Mary Freitag (Mark). Visitation will be held Friday, January 27th from 5-9 PM at Wier Funeral Home, 208 First Street West, Roundup, MT. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 28th at 11:00 AM at Wier Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Roundup Cemetery A luncheon will follow at the Roundup Masonic Temple, 405 Main Street.
